On this episode of Sight & Sound Music, Jaye reached out to the audience to see what topics they want to hear discussed. This week's topic comes from friend of the show, Luke Jaggers. Luke wants to know if music videos are still relevant in the current music landscape. Not only does Jaye answer this question, he also expands upon it and explores the relationship between music and video content in general, as well as how it relates to today's climate.
As he always does, Jaye gives his thoughts on the week's biggest and most noteable releases, as well as some that has peaked his interest. This week he discusses Jay-Z, Calvin Harris, The Acacia Strain, TLC, Tyler The Creator, The National, Desiigner, Stone Sour and more.

Ryan brings back Sight & Sound Movies and not for a movie review! He can't help but to start his first show back with the TV news (whoops) that Drake Bell might be playing Nightwing for the upcoming Titans TV show. Then, he dives into the idea of a sequel for The Accountant and how much the current state of movie blogging is annoying him. The meat of the show finally discuss the lackluster year 2017 has been for movies and how he hasn't enjoyed being a film fan this year, especially in the light of all of this Han Solo drama.

On a bonus episode of Sight & Sound Music, Jaye talks the tour manager life with special guest, Danny Carissimi from Sugar High podcast. Danny is a former tour manager who decided to take a trip down the music podcast road. Jay and Danny dive deep and discuss the ins and outs of some of the challenges facing the music industry, what it takes to be a tour manager, and how things have changed. Additionally, Danny elaborates on the idea of considering the music landscape from the position of a middle class musician's perspective as opposed from the more elite level, or even from a consumer level.

On this week's episode of Sight & Sound Music, Jaye breaks down the notion of having a short attention span when it comes to music. The concept is quite differen than the statement of having, "music ADD", but instead focuses on how much time listeners dedicate to music before deciding whether or not they actually like or dislike songs. Furthermore, is this idea a myth? After all, music listeners tend to give music more of a chance long term than they do any other media platform. He also goes in depth discussing some of his opinions that have changed over the years as well, including his opinion of Frank Ocean, Northlane, Travis Scott, and more.
As always, Jaye also breaks down his thoughts, feelings and first impressions regarding new music Friday releases. This week he discusses the new albums from Lorde, Fleet Foxes, Hundredth, Big Boi, and Young Thug. There are also examinations from singles from The Plot In You, Coldplay, Queens of the Stone Age and more.

This week on Sight & Sound Weekly, Ryan and Jaye kick things off telling you about their wild weekend, as well as discussing some of their creative struggles. The guys open the pop culture talk with movies (28:10) as they break down their thoughts on the new Black Panther trailer and the passing of the torch in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. During the music discussion (48:02), Jaye is anticipating the new album from melodic hardcore band Hundredth called, Rare. The band is taking a gigantic risk by shifting and changing their sound. Jaye and Ryan preview the album by discussing the singles that have lead up to the release, and how scary a stylistic change can be for a band like Hundredth. The TV discussion takes an interesting turn (1:17:45) as Ryan and Jaye talk about the announcement of the Netflix series, Sense 8 officially being canceled despite fan protest. The situation is strange and awkward in general, but what is truly interesting is why the show never really took off in the first place. The conversation goes a step further as the guys explore the psychology of online television streaming, the experience of Netflix vs HBO and much more.

Jaye goes a little off the rails and unleashes a rant about Taylor Swift after the news that her entire catalogue will now be available on Spotify. Also, Jaye dives into what it's like to be a musician in the modern music landscape. So much has changed in such a short amount of time for the music industry, and there really isn't a road map for success.
